Saturday, July 26, 2025

Our mission is to empower & uplift those in need by supporting community agencies that provide essential services. Through our charitable donations, we strive to help those agencies in Avery County so that individuals, families and animals have access to the resources and support they require to thrive.

The High Country Charitable Foundation is one of the largest foundations in Western, North Carolina. We proudly support over 30 organizations across Avery County each year! (Including but not limited to; Habitat for Humanity, Feeding Avery Families, Reaching Avery Ministries, Hospitality House, Banner Elk Fire and Rescue, Community Care Clinic, Hunger and Health Coalition). Our goal is to continue to build a foundation that will endure through multiple generations to promote and encourage the welfare of our community.

  • Our 2024 HCCF Fund Raising Gala along with additional Hurricane Helene donations raised over $700,000.
  • We gave over $335,000 in our yearly grant distributions.
  • During Hurricane Helene we provided over 6,000 hot meals to Avery County residents, workers and volunteers.
  • We hand delivered warehouses filled with donated goods to Hurricane Helene victims, including food, generators, heaters, and personal products.
  • Additional funds of over $280,000 were provided to our partners so that they could continue to provide services essential to the community.
